Football fans flying into Kiev's Boryspil International airport (KBP) will have the choice of several transport options if they are planning to travel to the city centre.
Ukrainian state-run buses will transport fans the 40km to Kyiv city for a flat fee of Hr 25, which is roughly 2.50 euro.
Official taxis, meanwhile, should set Euro fans back around 15-20 euro for the one-way journey to Kiev central train station.
Those wishing to keep it real can still choose to use Kiev's famous trolleybuses to travel backwards and forwards from the airport. The price of a single ticket? 15 euro cents.

Interfax new agency reports that over 1,000 stewards will work at the Euro 2012 final in Kiev on July 1. Due to security concerns and the high profile nature of the final, this number is considerably higher than normal for football matches played in Ukraine.

Twenty thousand Poles celebrated the official opening of Poland's new national stadium on Sunday with a huge concert and fireworks display in Warsaw. The new 58,000-capacity stadium cost an estimated 600 million dollars to complete and will host the opening game of UEFA Euro 2012 between Poland and Greece on June 8.
The new stadium was built on the grounds of the former 70,000-capacity Dziesieciolecia Stadium, which was closed in 2008. During the 90s the former stadium was used by market traders and was famous across much of Europe for its Jarmark Europa bazaar.

Thousands take to the streets in Poland to protest new governments-inspired international treaty that threatens the freedom of the Internet.

"The European Parliament has had no representation in ACTA negotiations. Just accepting or rejecting an agreement is not an exercise of democracy as under the Lisbon Treaty."
Zuzana Roithova, Member of European Parliament, EPP, Czech Republic

Peter Schmeichel has been appointed UEFA's global ambassador for Euro 2012 by Carlsberg. The Danish goalkeeping legend will front many of his sponsor's marketing activities during the next five months. It is unclear, however, whether he will be paid in beer or in cash.

Camper Van Nick might be joining our gang for the 2012 Euros. Nick who, you might remember, drove myself, Columbian Rich, Geordie Robin and Swiss Fabio around South Africa in his camper van in 2010, is seriously considering a trip out to Ukraine. He was in Riga last weekend escaping the delights of Bolton for a few days. It is fair to say he ended his first trip to Latvia looking like a broken man after three nights of partying. Apparently, he was so hammered on the bus back to the airport that he got off two kilometres before the terminal and had to walk to Riga International Airport through a field.

Last night I also met a good friend called Christophe who used to live in Riga but now resides in London. Christophe is planning to sail from Stockholm to Africa in late spring. If he does I will certainly link this website to his for anybody who wants to follow what should be an epic adventure.

Minus 10 in Riga now. Website traffic going very well with nearly 600 unique visitors yesterday. Continuing to optimize More Than a Game ahead of this summer's Euros.

Riga Nights...

The beautiful Ukrainian city of Lviv will host three matches during UEFA Euro 2012:
Germany v Portugal (June 9)
Denmark v Portugal (June 13)
Denmark v Germany (June 17)

This western Ukrainian city might possibly rate as Europe's most beautiful undiscovered city.

The Republic of Ireland will play Bosnia and Hungary in the days leading up to the European Championships. The Irish will play their final warm-up matches in Dublin on May 26 against Bosnia and then travel to Budapest to play Hungary on June 4.
The FAI believe that up to 25,000 Irish fans will travel to Poland for the team's three group matches in Poznan and Gdansk, with tough encounters ahead against Croatia, Italy and European Champions Spain.
Ireland will also play the Czech Republic in another warm-up match on February 29.
