China's national broadcaster CCTV has bought rights to the 2012 European Championships that might potentially mean that more Chinese will watch this year's football tournament than European fans.
The deal signed between CCTV and rights agency Sportfive will see 27 matches live on free-to-air television with potentially 360 million households having access to the free live transmissions. Euro 2012 matches will also be streamed live on the internet by CCTV within the Chinese territory.
