With no blog updates for ten days you might wish to call this website Less Than a Game rather than More Than a Game.
Apologies for no content having been posted. What's our excuse? Too much football, long-distance travel, vodka, night clubs and good fun.
We are currently in Kharkiv in deepest eastern Ukraine where a statue of Lenin stands in the main square and the hammer and sickle still adorn numerous buildings around this striking city of 1.8 million. There is more than a touch of the USSR about Kharkiv.
Shortly, Neil, Margus, Jeff, Johan and I will be off to tonight's match between Holland and Portugal - a must win for the Dutch. Last night's hangover is finally waring off after a night out at Kharkiv's top club, Panorama, where former England international Steve McManaman popped up among the vodka bottles and pretty girls.
Once the first round games are out of the way on Tuesday, we will be posting plenty of blogs and photos telling of our exciting adventures thus far in Ukraine. Apologies once again for the complete lack of updates until now.
